Welcome to MAG!

x

Welcome to the Midlands Amiga Group (UK). This is the latest in a long line of Amiga/Commodore usergroups that have operated in the midlands area. The MAG was established by Niceguy1979 to satisfy his craving for physically meeting people who were also interested in the Amiga. After travelling 100s of mile to attend various get togethers around the country it was about time that something closer to home was set up.

With many years of inactivity it was a pleasant surprise when there was interest at the first group meeting in 2005. Since then the group has met on a regular basis and enjoyed a flurry of activity at each meeting.

I was really chuffed the other day when I got the latest issue of Micromart off the shelf at my local ASDA. Sven Harvey who writes the Amigamart column had given the UK event a really positive write up which is great publicity. IanO has scanned it in for anybody who is interested in reading it.

The MAG bash organising is still motoring. We are putting the word out to many places and trying to get loads of other people to pledge! We are reaching the 50 milestone and would ideally love to double that figure to attract ACube. Come on people! Keep the faith!

Progress update for the MAG Bash....Amigakit have agreed to sponsor and exhibit at our get together. A van packed with Amiga goodies for sale will be travelling the load road from Wales to Coventry just for us. No doubt there will be plenty of hardware and software for sale.

The pledge situation is looking positive. At the moment we are looking at about 40+ people, but this is still not enough to attract those big names. If you know somebody who hasn't pledged please persuade them to do so. Your pledge really could make a difference.

I (Niceguy1979) have contacted various forums and companies and offered exhibition places to all I could think of. If you are developing some software and want to show off what you have done, but I haven't contacted you personally please don't take offense. If you want to exhibit or run a seminar please contact me ASAP.
